Happy Oscars

The Oscars: class all the way. This is the opening from 1989, starring Snow White and Rob Lowe. It's truly astonishing. (via Jim Emerson's Scanners)

Good luck on your Oscar pools everyone. I'm betting my future on "Binta And The Great Idea" for Short Film: Live Action.

Good lord. The best part of that was the confused, bewildered, mostly apathetic, annoyed, unentertained, smarmy reaction shots. Did you catch Robert Downey, Jr.'s sarcastic clapping? Looks pretty obvious that Kevin Kline thought he must have been either dreaming or tripping balls on some gnarly acid. How 'bout the fur-coated dame in the front row? The only one who thought it was REALLY Snow White was Martin Landau. When you make Tom Hanks look embarrassed to be part of Hollywood, you got troubles.

If Little Miss Sunshine wins anything I'm going on a killing spree.
